With its millions of supporters, Iranian Popular Music tries not only to be a local but a universal music as well How much success this music will achieve on its time would affect the whole Iranian art in the future. The paper follows a semiological analysis of couple of Iranian pop music singers to discover how this Iranian genre of pop music can reach the standards a more global pop music. <dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[This paper attempts to provide an analysis on the question of how Literacy practices are used in the site of MySpace to provide Profiles. MySpace is a site where millions of members create personal Profiles and take part in a variety of social activities. For the teenagers who actively use MySpace, it is one of their primary means of communicating with each other and is an environment in which they can Participate in many facets of American Culture, especially in entertainment sectors such as music, television, and movies (Boyd 2006a). Many put significant time and effort into creating and maintaining their MySpace Profiles. In what ways can the production of a MySpace Profile represent a locus of New digital literacies? The answer depends on what is meant by “Literacy.” Here, I first analyze the creation of a MySpace Profile with respect to a framework of Literacy that integrates prior social and technical perspectives, focusing on the use of code. Then, I argue that while MySpace is not an ideal environment for learning some of the languages of web production, the expressive Power found in the creation of a MySpace Profile concerns a technically simple but socially complex practice: the copying and pasting of code as a way to appropriate and reuse other People’s Media products. Finally, I contend that this practice calls into question the dichotomies used when describing the processes of “consumption” and “production” and the activities of “reading” and “writing”. By integrating recent work in Media and cultural studies with research on Literacy, concepts such as “Participation” and “remix” provide a useful way of describing this New Literacy practice.]]></dcterms:abstract>

<dcterms:abstract><![CDATA[The author of this paper tries to introduce the concept of RAS as a unit of communication. RAS is the smallest constructing unit of a message and it produces the meaning of a message in the receiver. Since RAS is neither objectively nor directly observable, the sciences of physics and biology are utilized in the study of this concept. Though communication science, physics, and biology seem, on the surface, three distinct categories, there are certain similarities as well as commonalities in the basics of these branches. These commonalities have contributed to the identification and conceptualization of RAS as the unit of communication. The author is of the opinion that hard sciences provide a proper route to understand the concept of RAS, and has found certain features and characteristics which provide a proper ground for the analysis of the communication unit. Some of these features are equilibrium in communication systems (on the basis of two factors: ‘need’ and ‘density’), similar linear relationship with the environment, active and passive transference, distinct responsibility in communication units, concordance with the law of light refraction, superimposition with a different RAS field, information reflection phenomenon, simulation and multiplication, mutation, relationship with a former RAS as the origin of a new formation, dialectic of order and disorder, the formation of a RAS chain or network, the internal forces which are important in the effectiveness of a message on the audience, effectivity and susceptibility cycle, effectivity index, the mutability of energy from one form to another, RAS wavy movements, and refraction states.]]></dcterms:abstract>

The research was conducted amongst two groups of girls: those who were using the internet and those who do not. The analysis of data revealed statistically significant differences between the two groups. The religious, ethnical, familial and personal identities in the former group are weaker than the latter group. This could be an indication of decreasing effect of traditional canals in the identity-building process of girls on one hand, and that an sign of qualitative change in identity-forming components in modern age on the other that are not under the control of traditional and non-official (family, ethnicity and religious) resources as well as that of official structures (institutions in charge of social control and cultural planning). Furthermore, the paper will introduce eight trends of these journals, which is considered the contribution of this argument. It should be noted that the development of Tourism industry has attracted the government officials’ attentions in Iran and elsewhere. These developments have caused the academic atmospheres to treat tourism as a discipline and support the scientific research in this field. Along with the disciplinary developments of the field, a special attention also has been placed on the development of specialized journals. In this respect, numerous researches have been made to analyze, assess and evaluate scientific journals in recent decades. Since tourism is also a matter of concern in contemporary Iranian scholarly atmosphere, the paper has taken the cause to develop it into a full capacity academic activity. In order to do that, I have considered the analysis of the research trends of tourism’s journals to be one of the first but formost steps.]]></dcterms:abstract>
