This paper attempts to examine the impact of Western Popular Culture on Iranian Music. With its millions of supporters, Iranian Popular Music tries not only to be a local but a universal music as well How much success this music will achieve on its time would affect the whole Iranian art in the future. The paper follows a semiological analysis of couple of Iranian pop music singers to discover how this Iranian genre of pop music can reach the standards a more global pop music. We will provide a thorough analysis of signs and symbols imbedded into pop music in Iran to see how it is possible to provided a rather comprehensive understanding of the direction of Iranian pop music. The paper also explores the possibility of using music as a tools to improve intercultural communication locally, as well as globally.
